Food Affair

The comfort 'food' that I've come home to and sit by my laptop with is gherkins. Anything pickled is an absolute weakness for me but tonight I was re-reminded about food blogs and one in particular being Pastry Affair has got my tongue and stomach craving for sweets and things. Right about now, I could easily give into the baking mood but considering the time and the lack of ingredients I'm sure to have, I'll just froth at the mouth, staring at my screen. I've never really paid attention to food blogs but when I came across the Pastry Affair, I felt a match made in the viral universe. Wait till you see the cupcakes and pies or her specialty in scones of different flavours. Here's a pumpkin waffle recipe I'm dying to try/be motivated to make all in due time.

Old Habits

I think this was taken on Monday after my shift. The wind had died down so we couldn't fly the kite yet again. I remember being hungry and eating a whole salad on my own whilst Peter smoked his pipe and we enjoyed the company under this tree at Pipemakers. It's been a while.

Day Of Sun And Dark Clouds

I'll admit it's poor form for me to be posting things days late. But the company I usually have is prioritised higher in most regards. Eventually they make their way up anyway. Spring has outshone itself to every previous one we've had. Just a couple of days ahead too actually (besides the ridiculous downpour last night which made driving such a terrible task). We were blessed with a happy sun and gentle breeze, clear water and a Sampson to tag along. He wasn't much of a hassle as I thought he would be. By the time we reached the little island, he managed to learn how to walk on the leash willingly at his own pace. It was a rather beautiful experience to sit and bask in the deep blue colour of the water and the view of the city while the breeze whisked through our hair. We had our lunch which Peter so kindly prepared -including Sampson's drumstick he enjoyed very little of and was preoccupied playing and scratching at cameras and things. Let me also tell you a story of his little drumstick we tried to feed him at the beach. I placed it a couple of feet away from where Peter and I were sitting so he could eat peacefully without us disturbing him as he usually does at home anyway. He decided to drag it closer to us until he reached in-between us and placed his drumstick right there. He gnawed at it a few times but left it there for safe keeping.

Once it was time to return, water levels rose and there was a tincy struggle as we headed back but it was nothing too bad. Day's like this never seem like they could get any better.

Take II

I'm back on blogger which is where I plan to stay for a long while. I've miss this format and I've also just missed what I never really appreciated until not too long ago. It's been more than a year since I've made a post and like I mentioned on Tumblr, I'm not planning to delete any of my previous things because they're always good for safekeeping. There's now also access to an archive in my side bar. I've made a couple of changes to the layout and I'm finding the colour scheme nice and soft. A few more finishing touches and I'm ready to roll. Posts will be making their way today to be visually rid of a couple of previous posts so be prepared to be post-spammed.
